When a song is going really, really well it’s hard to resist the temptation to play through it “one more time”. But it’s always better to leave the impression that people wanted more rather than less. Sometimes we have started something at church and it’s going really well and people are loving it but deep down we know it’s time to quit and begin with something new. But it’s really going well and we hate to quit.
It’s always better to let something end well than risk wearing it down to the point that it’s “jumped the shark” and what once brought life now smells like bad cheese. We can have this part of our ministry go out on top like “Cheers” or let it sink to the bottom like “X-Files”.
